Global Mission... Our People in Mission

A number of people from YVV have gone out, either regularly or on long term mission:

Geoff and Dianne Hall
Geoff and Di play a critical role in supporting missions organisations and ministries around the world. They operate under the name ‘28:19 On Screen Productions’, producing DVD’s for mission organisations of a professional standard but at an affordable cost. This work requires Geoff to spend a lot of time travelling. In recent years this included visits to China, the Philippines, Hong Kong, India, Uganda and the USA. Di joined Geoff on several of these trips. They love the ‘God at work’ stories they see and hear in their travels and are working on producing a DVD that would be released for distribution to churches on a monthly basis, called “What on Earth is God Doing?”

Jim & Leanne Langkopf
Jim arrived in Australia from his homeland in Germany 11 years ago. Jim and Leanne met at YVV and married in July 2007. Jim felt God's call to mission aviation and in 2005 he commenced a Mission Aviation Course at the Bible College of Victoria and currently flies for MAF. Leanne had a love for Jesus from an early age and dreamed of travelling and sharing her faith amongst people of different cultures. Jim and Leanne are currently living in Milingimbi (which is on an island approx. 500km east of Darwin) and are building relationships with the Yolŋu people.

Paul and Clare Woodington and family
Paul and Clare brought their family over from Herfordshire, England to the Bible College of Victoria for flight training on the Mission Aviation Course. Paul and Clare have many life experiences which they believe God gave them for their future in mission work. They are currently working in Arnhem Land where Paul flies for MAF. Their prayer is for God to continue blessing their family and developing their talents and gifts for the job the Lord has given them to do.

Daniel, Silke and Zoe Roth
Daniel, Silke and Zoe have been serving the Yolnu community in Arnhem Land for the last 3 years. Daniel is a pilot with Mission Aviation Fellowship (MAF), flying people and cargo into parts of Australia that are sometimes inaccessible by road. Silke homeschools Zoe and is part of the orientation team for new MAF families. She loves being part of the aboriginal community.

Michael and Jael Vogel
Michael, Jael and 6 month old Janaya are preparing to go to Arnhem Land with Mission Aviation Fellowship (MAF). They have been studying at the Bible College of Victoria for the last year, Michael is currently is studying to upgrade his pilot’s license. After a visit back to their homeland of Switzerland in May, they expect to arrive in Arnhem Land ready for service in August 2007. We’ll be hearing more about their journey to this point and what lies ahead as they seek to raise prayer and financial support.

Erwin and Yolanda Schaerz
Erwin and Yolanda studied at BCV before moving to West Papua 2 years ago. Erwin is a helicopter pilot with Helimission and Yolanda has taken on the task of home schooling their 3 girls. They have recently moved to Canada so that Erwin can upgrade his pilot’s license and gain sufficient experience to fly solo with Helimission when they return to Papua in 2009.

Allison and Kevin Hellier
Chandelier Ministries is a non-profit Christian organisation established in Melbourne, led by Kevin and Allison. Their vision is to equip, empower and release Christians into powerful and effective ministries that reflect the Light of Christ. This is worked out practically through networking and partnerships with individuals, churches, mission agencies, development agencies and parachurch organizations. They send short-term teams and/or individuals to equip and empower national churches and other organisations to achieve their goals of reflecting the love and light of Christ to the local community.
To date there are three key areas of equipping: water and sanitation projects, playgroup training, women’s/outreach ministries.
