As a church, we have identified 5 different organisations to partner with, covering a broad range of needs across the world. This is not saying that we value these organisations more than others, but to do justice in supporting them we felt the need to narrow our focus.
The five organisations are:
International China Concern is a Christian development organisation that changes lives by bringing love, hope and opportunity to China’s abandoned and disabled.
Drawing highly specialised staff from many nations as part of a world-wide Christian mission, Mission Aviation Fellowship Australia (MAF) provides vital air transport for people living in remote communities of Papua New Guinea, North Australia and Cambodia.
HopeBuilders International has been founded by a group of concerned Christians who have been captured by the plight of orphaned children in many central African countries. Here in Australia we have been given a great opportunity to help and to be in involved in breaking the cycle of poverty, for so many in the world that are suffering the effects of extreme poverty.
Empart is transforming communities by training local people to start local churches in the local community. Empart believe that real and lasting transformation can only be achieved through starting authentic local churches, like our Empart churches.
TEAR Australia is a movement of Christians in Australia responding to the needs of poor communities around the world. Our motivation comes from our belief that God loves all people, and in Christ offers them the opportunity of a new life. We believe that God is just, and has particular care for the poor and those who suffer as victims of injustice.
Partnership with these organisations involves things like participating in events, inviting speakers to speak during Sunday services, sending teams on short term missions and encouraging individuals to become involved in supporting the organisations by becoming advocates or offering financial and prayer support.
In recent times, teams have travelled from YVV to minister in Arnhem Land in Northern Australia, Thailand, Solomon Islands and in Uganda. Some individuals have also made trips to various parts of the world. Further teams are in planning for short term trips in the future.
